Check out all our Christmas posts. At our "Happy Birthday, Jesus" Christmas parties, a favorite game for the kids in my children's ministry is "Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Children are usually divided into two groups, one representing Mary the mother of Jesus and the other representing the wise men. Mary's team sit in one place holding dolls that symbolize the baby Jesus, and the wise men come in with sweets, biscuits and juices to give to Mary's team.
Afterwards, both groups get together and eat the stuff presented. Your email address will not be published. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Learn how your comment data is processed. In this fun Christmas game, kids will run around the room.
When you shout out the name of a Christmas carol, kids must freeze in place in a pose that represents that song. Say: Christmas songs are a fun way to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus came to earth as a baby, born to be our Savior. Your kids will love this fun game of Telephone! Kids will sit in a circle or a side-by-side line and whisper a message down the line. The messages will be things the shepherds might have told people.
First, read Luke Then whisper the following messages to the first child in line, one message at a time. Let kids whisper the message all the way down the line or around the circle and have the last child announce aloud what they heard.
Like the shepherds, we can tell everyone the exciting news about Jesus! In this Christmas game, kids will have to listen carefully! Hum just one note of a Christmas song. Need ideas? Use the list from the first game. If not, hum the first and second note and allow more guessing. Continue adding more notes until someone correctly identifies the song. Say: This Christmas, spend some time just listening to Jesus.
Maybe Jesus has something to say to you through a song, through a Bible verse, or simply through spending quiet time with him. Play a fun alphabet Christmas game with your kids. Kids will sit in a circle. Continue around the circle, repeating all the previous gifts each time you add one, until you get all the way to Z! Each child has an ornament made of paper. One at a time, each team member runs to the tree, attaches ornament, and returns to team.
First group getting all ornaments attached to the tree wins! Christmas Story Exchange Game Form a circle and give each child the name of something relating to the Christmas story: star, manger, angels, shepherds, sheep, wise men, etc. The children with these names try to exchange places before "It" can get one of their places.
Four contestants are up front 2 for Team A and 2 for Team B. The first child from either team to raise hand, or ring a bell, correctly answer wins. Sing that song. Choose more contestants and continue. Christmas Story Draw When the leader says, "Go", the first person in each line goes to the paper taped on the wall and starts to draw something from the scene of Jesus' birth in the manger.
When the leader says "Change! This continues until the leader says, "Stop! You can make a difference! Your purchases and donations to the site help to distribute our children's ministry resources to churches across the world.
